Scarsdale Diet

This is a basic weight loss plan for adults who have no special dietary needs or problems. The Scarsdale Diet is a diet plan of seven- to fourteen-days duration. It clearly outlines the types of foods to be consumed at three meals each day. Snacking is not allowed, and herbal appetite suppressants are encouraged. Meals consist of fruit, vegetables, and lean sources of protein in unlimited amounts. The Scarsdale diet, like other low-carbohydrate, high-protein plans, eliminates foods that are high in fiber and many nutrients in favor of quick weight loss. You have to eat exactly what is assigned. You should not drink any alcoholic beverages. Between meals you eat only carrots and celery, but you may have as much as you wish. The only beverages allowed are regular or decaffeinated coffee, black; tea; club soda (with lemon, if desired); and diet sodas in all flavors.

What is good about Scarsdale Diet :
You don't have to count calories or grams of fat, and there is no limit on portion sizes. Weightoften occurs rapidly, and you won't have to worry about hunger.

What is bad about Scarsdale Diet :
This plan is dangerously low in carbohydrate and many vitamins and minerals. A strict meal plan must be followed exactly. Herbal appetite suppressants are often encouraged; these can be dangerous for people with heart disease or high blood pressure and have been linked to death when used in large amounts or in conjunction with other stimulants such as caffeine.
